(1436-1505) Elżbieta Rakuszanka, German Elisabeth von Habsburg (born 1436 in Vienna, died 30 August 1505 in Kraków) Polish queen and grand duchess of Lithuania. Daughter of the German and Hungarian King Albrecht II Habsburg and Elisabeth of Luxembourg, daughter of Emperor Sigismund of Luxembourg. The wife of King Casimir IV Jagiellon from 1454 exerted considerable influence on his politics. She initiated succession efforts for the Jagiellons in the Czech Republic and Hungary. She is called the mother of the Jagiellons or the mother of kings. She was buried in the Świętokrzyska Chapel in Wawel.
